Hardcore Darkness Mod 1.12.2/1.11.2/1.10.2 changes the darkness mechanism in Minecraft. It is completely pitch black, adding more excitement to your adventures.
You may have known the darkness mechanism in the game. Even though you are in a cave that has no torches, you can still your surroundings. This is based on the gamma setting. However, when you install the Cosmetic mod – Hardcore Darkness, the darkness of the game will be much more improved. The mod eliminates a minimum block as well as a sky light. Hence, the place becomes actually dark because there is no light source.
There are three different modes for you to adjust in the config file of the mod. When the mod is first installed, it will be already in mode 0:
- Mode 0: You will not have any minimum blocks and sky light.
- Mode 1: You don’t have any minimum block light to use.
- Mode 2: You are not provided any minimum block light. However, for the sky light, its appearance is based on the stage of the moon.
Some configuration options you can use in the config file are:
- “Dark Nether”
- “Dark End”
- “Dark Twilight Forest”
- “AlternativeNightSkyLight”
- “Dimension Blacklist”
When Hardcore Darkness is put on a server, all clients must have it installed as well. You can put the mod into any modpacks that you want. However, you have to make sure that you already installed Minecraft Forge because it decides the functioning of the mod.
