Shadew’s Foxes Mod 1.18.2 adds to the game more new types of foxes. It is available for you to download both Forge and Fabric versions.

Shadew’s Foxes Description

If it was suspicious, foxes are players.

It is a simple mod containing types of foxes that you have never seen before.

In fact, the mod is obtainable for Forge and Fabric (except for v1.0 that is only for Fabric). Therefore, you should get the correct version.

Requirements

For Fabric:

Fabric Loader 0.11.6 or higher

Runs on any full Minecraft 1.17 release

Fabric API is not required but recommended anyway

For Forge:

Minecraft Forge 37.0.0 or higher

Operates on every full Minecraft 1.17 release

Fox Types

Shadew’s Foxes contains 6 new natural sorts, creating a total of 8 natural types. Additionally, it will introduce 2 skins for foxes with specific name tags.

Foxes own a certain chance to get a type when they spawn in a corresponding biome. You can change that in a data pack.

Red fox (vanilla)

It is the most common fox, living in all taiga variants but snowy ones.

Type ID: red

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: red}

Arctic fox (vanilla)

It is one of the most common types, only spawning in snowy taiga biomes. They can take over every fix type there.

Type ID: snow

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: snow}

Black fox

It is the relatively common kind that dwells in taiga variants.

Type ID: black

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: black}

Silver fox

A relatively common fox that lives in normal taiga variants. It rarely spawns in snowy taiga.

Type ID: silver

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: silver}

Platinum fox

A rare fox, appearing in any taiga. However, they are more common in snowy biomes.

Type ID: platinum

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: platinum}

Gold platinum fox

A rarer mob of Shadew’s Foxes that is visible in any taiga. But, it’s more common in snowy biomes.

Type ID: gold_platinum

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: gold_platinum}

Grey fox

A relatively rare variant. It comes into view in giant taiga biomes.

Type ID: grey

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: grey}

Cross fox

A common variant, spawning in all not-snowy taiga biomes.

Type ID: cross

Summon: /summon fox ~ ~ ~ {Type: cross}

Name tags

Name a fox “FoxShadew” to provide it a heterochromia skin.

Select “ZtereoHYPE” to give the fox a blue skin.

Other differences

The mod fixes the MC-170551 issue. Foxes can correctly spawn on podzol, dirt, or coarse dirt. They will turn much more common in giant tree taiga biomes.

Spawning a fox choosing a spawn egg in snowy biomes other than snowy taigas currently spawns arctic types. It starts by default utilizing the same rates as in snowy taigas.

If the splash on the title screen reads “In case it wasn’t obvious, foxes are not players”. Its position changes into “In case it wasn’t obvious, foxes are players”.
