The main function of ModDirector Mod 1.12.2/1.10.2/1.7.10 is to download and load mods in an automatic way. It does this prior to the start of the game.
There are chances for a core mod not being downloaded properly in Minecraft. Therefore, a Miscellaneous mod like ModDirector is necessary to have. It begins to download as well as load other mods automatically before the start of the game. You can apply the mod to the game from version 1.7.10 to version 1.12.2. Besides, in theory, the mod should also function with versions below 1.7.10. However, it is not sure that it will function. In case you are on a version that is newer than 1.1.2, you cannot use this mod since some things in Forge received several changes. At a certain point, the mod will be updated to later versions through the use of Fabric Mod Loader. Also, you need to wait for the version for 1.13+ forge that will be released later.
To make this mod function, you need to:
- Create its config files first. This can be done in the config folder with a folder created. Then, you name it “mod-director”.
- Make sure you make a .curse.json or a.url.json file in the folder. This should be given to every mod that needs to be downloaded.
ModDirector is free for use in any modpacks and projects. Before you use it, you have to install Minecraft Forge first.
